The song featured this week, written by Don Moen and performed by the Zoe Group in acapella is "Because We Believe." The churches of Christ believe in the same things as set outlined in that song. We believe them because they are set forth in God's Word, the Bible and because the universe and many other items of evidence prove the existence of God who inspired those holy words.
Have you ever wondered what the churches of Christ believe? Perhaps you have heard some things that we believe. You may have an idea about what we believe. You may be surprised. In this article, we will point out the main things that we believe so that you can have a more complete understanding of our beliefs and why we do what we do. The answers will come from God's Word, which we believe to be the all-inspired, all-sufficient Word of God.
We Believe in God the Father
Paul writes that there is "One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all" (Eph 4:6). Christians are all the children of God (1 John 3:1-3). Paul here affirms four things about the Father:

Paul is addressing the saints and the faithful in Christ (Eph. 1:1), so he here affirms that God is the Father of the saints and the faithful.
2. The Father Is Above All.
The Father is "the possessor of heaven and earth" (Gen. 14:19; 1 Chron. 29:11-12). The psalmist sang, "For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods" (Ps 95:3) and "That men may know that thou, whose name alone is Jehovah, art the most high over all the earth" (Ps 83:18).
3. The Father Is Through All.
The Father is through all. On this, Adam Clarke writes, "Pervading every thing; being present with every thing; providing for all creatures; and by his energy supporting all things." Albert Barnes writes, "He pervades universal nature, and his agency is seen
