Paul writes in Hebrews 9:†, "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment." He writes in Romans 14:10, "...for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ." So, the judgment will be a reality for all of us. But why? There are many reasons for God's judgment. We will look at some of these, as set out by Paul in Romans 1:18-32 in this article.
The Ungodliness and Unrighteousness of Men
Paul writes, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness..." (Rom. 1:18). He had written the antithesis of what would happen to the ungodly and unrighteous in the previous verse (Rom 1:19), "For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith." The just will live by faith, but the ungodly and unrighteous will experience the wrath of God!
