Why did the Son of God come into the world, take on the form of man, suffer as a man, and die on a cross? It was because of sin. Paul writes in Romans 3:23†, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God..." He writes in Romans 5:12, " Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned..." Further, he reminds of the consequences of sin: "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.:
Since the wages of sin is death, the New Testament makes clear in several places what things are sins. In this article, we will examine one such list of sins. We will look at Paul's catalogue of sin in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11. Paul begins this list of sins with the words, "Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived..."
The question, "Know ye not," is Paul's way of saying, "You should know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God!"
