(Previous - A Buried Treasure and a Pearl) IntroductionIn this article, we will examine twelve "I am" statements of Jesus as found in the book of John. Each of these statements reveals much important information about who Jesus is from His own words. I encourage you to follow along as we look at the "I am's" of Jesus. I Am Who I AmWe will begin our study of Jesus' "I am" statements in the book of Exodus, in the Old Testament. The reason will become clear as we proceed. When God was sending Moses to deliver Israel out of bondage, Moses asked Him, (Ex 3:13, NKJV1): "Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they say to me, 'What is His name?' what shall I say to them?" God answered in Exodus 3:14, NKJV: And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you.'" (Continued on page 2).1. All scripture references are from the King James Version of the Bible unless otherwise indicated.↩ Follow Us On Facebook Back to Top |
